Cave Creek

Cave Creek

Located just seven miles from North Scottsdale with direct access to the Tonto National Forest from its northern border, you’ll discover one of the original gold mining towns in the West, known as Cave Creek. The fascinating place features a Downtown area that looks like a scene out of an old Western movie with the eclectic storefronts that are reminiscent of the wild west long ago. In addition to the one-of-a-kind Saloons, Eateries, Shops, and Galleries that can be found downtown, Cave Creek’s zip code 85331 has more than a handful of nice grocery stores and access to a hospital and doctors locally. Some of the other fun (and memorable experiences) that this town offers are sightings of people walking with their dogs and mini horses for a morning stroll through Downtown, motorcycles, bicycles, and horses parked together outside of the local restaurants, access to great live music almost every day of the week (all year round), Bull Riding Events at the Buffalo Chip, and Bike Week every April. A person living in Cave Creek for any amount of time (most likely) identifies as a “Creeker”. Long time Creekers are passionate about the history that made this area and they work diligently to preserve the memories and lessons from the past while embracing the growth and changes of the area. You can learn so much about the history of Cave Creek with a half day’s visit to the local Museum in town. And it’s definitely worth mentioning that breathtaking mountain views can be had from a variety of neighborhoods in this zip code that range in all price points. What one might consider most special about this area is the rules for outside lights. There is a common goal to preserve the magical views that come from the night sky of the Sonoran Desert when void of light. Just like in Carefree, to the East, it is a spectacular experience to star gaze in this area. And the temperatures here are typically 5-10 degrees cooler than recorded at Sky Harbor Airport because of the elevation level. Cave Creek has three great golf course communities within the zip code and is not too far from several other well-known golf clubs. This luxury of options, caters to your level of love for the game. Whether a year-round resident or snow bird, there is a lot to love about Cave Creek.

Also worth noting: Cave Creek’s zip code is 85331 and this area is divided by an imaginary line running horizontal along Carefree Highway. To the north it is officially known as Cave Creek Proper because it is governed by the town of Cave Creek. The southern part of the zip code is still known as Cave Creek because of the mailing addresses but its technically part of the City of Phoenix because of their boundary lines for the jurisdiction and utility services.
